Jerry's Turbo Bean Cooler Homepage

I built a Turbo Bean Cooler which will rapidly cool 4 pounds of coffee beans. Fresh from the roaster, 4 pounds of coffee beans will cool to ambient temperature in less than two minutes.

The cooler is powered by a 1620 CFM attic fan which sucks air through the coffee peans which have been dumped into the wire basket.

After the beans are cooled, I remove the wire basket, turn the Turbo Bean Cooler onto it's side and place the basket over the exhaust vent. The air from the fan is forced up through the beans forcing the chaff to blow out of the basket. With a little agitation, the coffee beans are completely chaff free in less than a minute.
